The determination of trace carbon mo noxide and carbon dioxide requires the use of a hydrogen flame detector and a matching methane reformer to co nvert trace amounts of CO and CO2 into methane, which are measured with an FID detector and quantified by an external standard method.
It is very complicated to install a methane reformer on a finalized gas chromatograph. It is necessary to install both the gas circuit and the circuit. The instrument needs to be modified, time-consuming, laborious, and low-efficiency. The general user unit cannot install it at all. It requires the instrument manufacturer to come.
